Moscow, April 24. The leading Russian internet-companies Mail.ru, Rambler, RBK and Yandex announce about setting up a Professional Branch Association. The Initiative group consisting of the employees of these companies will prepare a draft of statute documents, which later will be submitted to the branch.
Companies-initiators believe that Association will unite those for whom internet-content and internet-services are their main profession and also for those whose activity is closely connected with the internet.
The main purpose of the Association will be to form a single position of the branch on various issues in the area of business in internet and cooperation with government and public organizations and other branches. The companies-organizers plan to hold constituent assembly of the Association before the autumn business season. During two years a discussion is being carried out about setting up a professional branch association of Russian internet-companies.
During this time internet in Russia has turned into serious business, the market has become civilized and the players learnt to cooperate with each other. The first conference «Internet and Business» has become one more confirmation of this fact — this enterprise was arranged jointly by ten companies.
One of the projects of future Association will be further holding of such conferences. The permanent tasks of the Association might become cooperation with legislative and
executive bodies, promotion of internet as an advertising site and other initiatives.
The access to the Association will be open to the wide range of internet-market players. The Association?s participants can be companies, creating various internet-services, internet-Mass Media, Internet-shops, design studios, promotional agencies, placing advertisements in internet, access providers, internet-telephone and internet-television, payment systems, legal and other consulting companies working with internet.
Association plans close cooperation and in some cases, probably to become a member of interrelated professional associations: representatives of telecommunication and computer industry (ADE и AE CIT), advertisers (ACAR), and also journalists, content producers (GIS, ELBI, NFPh) and others.
